Gomes, Manuel, 90, of Cranston, passed peacefully Saturday (4-11-26) morning at home surrounded by his family. Born in Celorico, Portugal, a son of the late Antonio and Aria (de Jesus) Gomes, he came to this country in 1975 and became a citizen in 1985. Mr. Gomes worked construction both in Portugal and the United States. He was a member of the Cranston Portugues Club and the Nucleo Sportinguistas of Cranston.
He is survived by his wife Olga I. Gomes of Cranston, 2 sons Manuel J. Gomes and Victor Gomes both of Cranston. He leaves 2 granddaughter Bella Gomes and Elisabete Gomes and 2 grandsons Paulo and David Gomes all of Cranston. He also leaves 3 great-grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters.
His life will be celebrated with calling hours Wednesday 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Butterfield Funeral Home, 500 Pontiac Avenue with a Mass of Christian Burial in The Church of the Holy Rosary, Traverse Street, Providence Thursday at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. The Family has entrusted Stapleton Family Funeral Home for the arrangements.
