Amore, Mary B., (94), of Cranston passed away peacefully at Sunny View Nursing Home on Sunday, March 22, 2026. She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Harold B. and Geneive (Morse) Hunt.
Mary was a frequent volunteer at the RI Community Food Bank in Cranston for over 28 years. In 2002 she was one of five recipients over the age of 70, to receive recognition awarded by Mayor John O’Leary.
She leaves 5 sons; Gerald Amore of Cranston, Michael (Melia) Amore of Warwick
Patrick (Debbie) Amore both of Westerly, Ronald Amore of Greenville and Dennis Amore of Providence. A sister Dorothy Mitchell of Pt. Judith, 28 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 16 great-great- grandchildren. She predeceased her longtime companion William Bowen and was mother of the late Maryanne Rogers. She was the sister of the late Helen Valletta, Virginia Gulbrandson, Carol Costa, Barbara Allen, Harold Hunt, George Hunt, Robert Hunt and Raymond Hunt. She was a dedicated friend of Bill W for 42 years.
Her life will be celebrated with a calling hours Friday from 9:00am to 10:15am in the Butterfield Funeral Home 500 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, Friday at 11:00am Burial will be in Saint Ann’s Cemetery.
