Obituaries

 

Jose M. Belarosa, 79, of Netherlands Avenue, Cranston died peacefully on January 6, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria F. (Carvalheiro) Belarosa. Born in Sao Miguel, Portugal a son of the late Manuel and Francisca (DaSilva - Lopes) Belarosa.

Mr. Belarosa honorably served in the Portuguese Armed Forces for 2 years before migrating to the United States in 1972 at the age of 26 years old. He resided in Pawtucket until 1996 before moving to Cranston. Jose was a communicant of Saint Paul Church in Cranston.

Mr. Belarosa was a machinist at Greystone Inc., North Providence for many years before retiring in 2014.

He was a member of Banda Da Música Santo Antonio, Pawtucket. He enjoyed watching soccer, going to the Portuguese Feast and most of all spending time with his loving family and friends. He will always be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness.

Besides his wife Maria, of 37 years he is survived by two sons, Victor Nascimento and his wife Misty, and Jeffrey Belarosa, two daughters, Susan Belarosa and her husband Phil Crook and Jessica Belarosa, a brother, Luis Belarosa, a sister Angela Tavares, two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Ramos. He was the father of the late Paul Belarosa and brother of the late Joao Belarosa.

His Funeral with visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 from the Stapleton Family Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue Cranston at 8:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul Church, One Saint Paul Place, Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
