Sidney Lee Smith, 70, of Camelot Way, Weymouth Massachusetts died peacefully on Sunday, October 20,2024 at South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, Massachusetts.

He was born on August 10, 1954 in Providence, Rhode Island, a son of the late Frank D. and Elizabeth A. (Flippens ) Smith. He lived in Weymouth, MA for 10 years previously living in Providence, Rhode Island.

Sidney was a graduate of Hope High School, Providence Class of 1972 and he attended Rhode Island Community College.

Sidney was a US Army Veteran serving his country during the Vietnam conflict. He was employed as a Draftsman for 7 years with the Feeny Brothers Construction Company. Sidney was also an Accomplished Artist. He truly enjoyed the outdoors, especially biking, kayaking, hiking and spending time with family and friends.

Sidney appreciated the simple things in life. While Sidney often kept to himself he had a kind and gentle disposition. He will be sadly missed by all who shared his life.

Sidney is survived by four brothers, Wayne F. Smith and his wife Debra of Warwick, RI, Maurice D. Smith and his wife Wanda of Weymouth, MA, Charles A. Smith and his wife Louisa of Providence, RI, Timothy J. Smith of Norwich, Ct., one sister Mary F. Gripper of Ft. Mill, SC, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was the bother of the late Alethea L. Wells, Elizabeth “Betty” Smith, Pamela R. Smith, Debra A. Smith and Richard A. Smith.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 with visitation from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM in the Stapleton Family Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI at 2:00 PM. Military honors will be presented.
