Antunes, Antonio, 86, of Cranston, passed peacefully Saturday, April 9, 2022, at home with his family. Born in Celorica Da Beira, Portugal a son of the late Manuel and Diolinda (DeSousa) Antunes. He was the husband of the late Maria Alice Antunes. Antonio worked as a cloth factory worker for many years before retiring several years ago. He was the father of Maria M. Ribeiro of Portugal, Ana M. Tavares of Cranston, and Maria E. Santo of Cranston. He had six grandchildren; Antonio Ribeiro, Cotarina Ribeiro, Carla Pacheco, Cecelia Tavares, Aimee Santo and Fabian Santo and three great grandchildren, and one brother Carlos Atunes. He was brother of the late Noberto Antunes, Julio, Maria, and Aduzinda Antunes. The family will receive friends Monday, April 11, 2022, from 6-8pm in the Stapleton Family Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Matthew Church, Elmwood and Park Avenues, Cranston. Burial will be in St Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
