Obituaries

 

Hopson, Janet Elise Nordstrom Dye, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the age of 77 after a long battle with Lewy-Body-Dementia at Briarcliffe Gardens in Johnston. She was born in Cranston to Dr. Ragnar and Stina Erickson Nordstrom. She graduated from Cranston High School East in 1963 and Bryant University in 1965. She was predeceased by two husbands, Neal Dye and Glenn Hopson.

Janet and her first husband raised West Highland Terriers, winning many gold ribbons. She worked as a secretary in the Guidance Department at Jefferson Junior High School in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, retiring after 30 years.

Janet is survived by her sister, Jo-Anne Marrapese and her husband Edward, a nephew William Ragnar Marrapese and his wife Jennifer Johns Marrapese, a niece Kristen Marie Giles and her husband Chris Giles, two great nieces Chloe Madison Marrapese and Isabel Noelle Marrapese and a great nephew Matthew Edward Corey and his fiancé Alexis Howard. She also leaves her late husband Neall’s sister Jeanette Dye Goulet, her niece Janet Goulet Ferrari and her husband David and her great niece Morgan Arlene and great nephew Luke Neal.

We wish to thank the staff at Briarcliff Gardens for taking such good care of her for the last five years. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
