Obituaries

 

 

Costa, Amandio R., 76, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Hope, Health, Hospice in Providence. Born in Guarda, Portugal, he came to America in 1972. He was the husband of Maria Celeste (Ricardo) Costa. Besides his wife he leaves 2 sisters; Maria E. Duarte and Nazare Costa both of Cranston, 3 brothers; Vasco R. Costa of North Providence, Cesar R. Costa of Riverside and Jose L. Costa of Cranston. He was father of the late Paul Costa and brother of the late Emildio and Maria Rosa Costa.

Mr. Costa was a mechanic at Leviton until the company moved out of the state. He served in the Portuguese Army for 4 years. He was a member of the Cranston Portuguese Club and the varied groups through this association.

His life will be celebrated with calling hours Sunday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Stapleton Family Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston. Funeral gathering at the funeral home at 8:30am Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew Church, Elmwood Ave. at 10:00am. Burial will be in St Ann Cemetery immediately following.
