Hudson, Rita M., 95, of Western Cranston, passed peacefully Friday, 8/27/2021, at the Greenwood Health Center. Born in Providence a daughter of the late Jenaro and Lena (Fournier) Aranceta. She was the wife of the late Byron “Rocky” Hudson. .Rita was a member of the former St Ann Parish for many years and was a former president of its St Ann Church Woman’s Guild. She was an avid bingo player as well as Duckpin bowling. Rita was also an avid Seamstress and card player. Rita worked as a data entry person for Allendale Insurance Company for 16 years. Rita leaves 2 daughters: Valerie A. Hudson of Johnston and Cheryl (Dave) Allenchey of North Attleboro, two grandchildren Keith Hudson and Dana Fox and a great grandson Gabriel Hudson. She was the mother of son Charles who passed in 2016. Her life will be celebrated with calling hours Wednesday, 9/1/21, from 4-7 in the Stapleton Family Funeral Home, 684 Park Ave., Cranston with a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday in St George Maronite Catholic Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in her memory be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
