daSilva, Jose, 91, of Warwick, peacefully passed away in his sleep surrounded by his family on Monday, 5/27/2019, at Greenwich Farms Assisted Living, his home for the last 2 years. Born in Chaves, Portugal, a son of the late Manuel and Duzinda (daCosta) daSilva. He came to the United States where he met his wife Mary Rose Delgado. They were married for 63 years living in Lodi, NJ, Cranston, and Warwick for the past 50 plus years.

Mr. daSilva was a member of the Cranston Portuguese Club and its Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and made his own wine. He was a master carpenter and finish carpenter for many years and was the sole proprietor of DaSilva Woodcraft in Warwick.

Besides his wife, he leaves 2 daughters: Anna-Marie (Antonio S.) Resende of Cumberland and Rosemary DaSilva of Warwick, 3 grandchildren Jennifer (Rob) Buchetto, Monica Resende (Stephen DaSilva) and Paul Resende and 1 great grandson Alexander Buchetto and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Florentino, Gabriel, Ilidio, Serafim, Jacinto daSilva, Aida daSilva Elias, and Delmina daSilva Martins.

His life will be celebrated with calling hours Friday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Stapleton Family Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston. Funeral Saturday at 8:30am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew Church, Cranston at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, 02905. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
