Obituaries

 

 

Bernardo, Mary L., passed peacefully Friday (May 21, 2021) in the Miriam Hospital. Born in New Bedford, MA, a daughter of the late Afonso and Josefa (de Jesus) Lucio. She was the wife of the late Daniel W. Bernardo. She had lived in Cranston since 1954.  

She is survived by a daughter Anne Marie (Gregory) Fowler, a grandson Douglas (Melissa) Fowler and a granddaughter Brittany (Matthew) Generali all of Cranston, and 6 great grandchildren Aidan, Liliana, Savannah and Elizabeth Fowler, Trevor and Landon Generali. She was mother of the late Paul Bernardo and sister of the late Manuel and Afonso Lucio, Elsie Pacheco and Julia Nobrega.

Her life will be celebrated with visitation Tuesday from 9:15am to 10:15 in the Stapleton Family Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston 02910. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston St. at 11:00am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis, TN 38105.
