Obituaries

 

 

Acevedo, Juan Omar, 68, died peacefully Thursday, January 5, 2017, at St. Luke Hospital, New Bedford. Born in the Dominican Republic a son of the late Nicolas and Ana D. (Luna) Acevedo he came to the United States in 1978. He was the husband of Daisy A. Acevedo.
Mr. Acevedo served in the Merchant Marines for 2 years and had an affinity for the sea.
Besides his wife he leaves a son Ramon (Omayra) Acevedo of Cranston and a daughter Niozoti (Rodolfo) Genao and 5 grandchildren Isabella and Victoria Acevedo, Adrian Crum and Amaya and Aidan Genao. He was father of the late Omar Acevedo.
His life will be celebrated with calling hours Sunday, from 5 to 8 followed by a service at 8:00pm in the Stapleton Family Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston. The family will meet at the funeral home Monday at 8:30am with burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston at 10:00am. Visit cranstonfuneral.com for directions.
